Grand Marais

Grand Marais

Take me back to Grand Marais
And from there in the wilderness I will stay
Send across Seagull in the beat up old pontoon
Or I'll grab a Grumman and paddle across on my own

You learn the meaning of freedom from the morning to the night
Watching the wind a blowin' and the trees put up a fight
If you're not too careful, you'll surely lose your watch
Lift your head up early to the light of the morning bright

The water is deep and cold late in the month of May
And the sun rises high in the middle of the day
And when the weekend comes, I'm gone to Grand Marais
